Regina Jones

LCDC, BS

Regina Jones LCDC, BS is a licensed chemical dependency counselor with more that 20 years' experience providing addiction and mental health treatment to adults, adolescents and families. Regina is not new to addiction treatment and mental health disorder. Regina has been working in the field of addiction since 1993. Regina's first job was in 1993 as a Behavioral Health Technician at a treatment center, Roger's Street. Regina has worked in all treatment levels of care, Intensive & Supportive Residential Treatment Programs, Intensive & Supportive Outpatient Treatment Programs and PHP. Regina worked for the Harris County Family Drug Court as the Drug Court Coordinator for 8 years, working alongside Judges, Parent Attorneys, CASA workers-Child Advocate, Assistant County Attorney, Domestic Relations Attorney, DFPS caseworkers and Supervisors, Child’s Attorney and Treatment Providers. While working in the Drug Court Regina saw the devastating affects individuals experience when their parental rights were terminated. Termination is a death sentence for parents trying to regain custody. You would think individuals with the threat over their head of losing their children would be enough for someone to quit using drugs or drinking alcohol,  but the disease of addiction is cunning, baffling and powerful and its way more powerful than a mother's love for their children, with a mother's strongest desire to want to get sober and stay sober, it’s really hard unless an individual is willing to completely surrender to the recovery process.

Recovery is a process, it takes time and a lot of support,  guidance and tender loving care for an individual to see the severity of the disease and the need to change. Regina understands addiction well because she is in recovery herself, with over 31 years of sobriety. She is skilled in empathizing with her clients and putting herself in their shoes to see things from their perspective. She is passionate about working with clients overcoming addiction and loves walking the journey of recovery alongside them regardless of how difficult the road gets. She is no stranger to helping clients work through trauma, and it is important to her to be a sounding board with her clients as they get in touch with painful feelings and begin the healing process. Regina will never rush clients through their trauma, and she will provide clients with appropriate coping skills and relapse prevention tools and techniques to help minimize their trauma. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Services and successfully completed a Substance Abuse Counselor Training Program at an accredited Counselor Training School in 1992.

As we begin this journey, we believe that working collaboratively with DFPS teams, Family Base Safety Services, Conservatorship Caseworkers, Investigation's caseworkers, and other organizations, we can make a difference in the lives of families. Thanks in advance for allowing RCD Family Services to work with you and your team to impact clients and families in the recovery process and family reunification.
